The suspension enters the drum through the feed pipe and the spiral discharge port . The solid particles deposited on the inner wall of the drum are scraped and pushed out of the slag discharge port . The separated clear liquid flows out of the drum through the opening of the liquid layer regulating plate . The relative movement between the screw and the drum , that is , the differential speed is realized by the differential , and its size is controlled by the auxiliary motor.

The centrifuge consists of two rotors ,one is called " drum " , and the other is " screw unloader " ( referred to as a screw ) . When the drum rotate at high - speed , with the slurry along the drum , by centrifugal force , and this centrifugal force is many times greater than gravity , so that the solid particles will be separated from the liquid in the centrifuge drum axis , sedimentation to the inner wall of the drum . A screw unloader located in the drum rotates below the speed of the drum and pushes the deposited solid particles to the slag outlet . The differential speed between the outer drum and the screw unloader ( affects the slag pushing Speed ) depends on the gear ratio of the differential and its speed . The two - phase liquid is divided into two layers by centrifugal force . The heavy phase layer is drawn out by the centripetal pump against the wall of the drum and discharged from the heavy phase outlet . The light phase layer is close to the screw end , thrown out by centrifugal force from the overflow port , and then discharged from the light phase outlet . The whole work is continuously completed between the closed upper and lower shells .
